Gift Giving icon Take out a pad and pencil and make out your gift list, what you plan to purchase and how much you expect to spend.
Gift Giving icon Next, review your gift list to see if there are any names which can be removed.
Gift Giving icon Compare your Christmas budget with your gift list and cut back until they match.
Gift Giving icon If your list is a long one, consult family members and suggest that individual gifts be given to the children only.
Gift Giving icon Another suggestion might be a grab bag. Have each family member write down their name on a piece of paper along with 2 or 3 items they would like to receive. Place all in a hat and then have a drawing. In this way, they will get items they want yet the element of surprise will still be there.
Gift Giving icon Buy a small pocket notebook and prepare a page for each person on your list.  Include clothing sizes, interests, hobbies and hints you've already received and the $ amount you plan to spend on each person.
Gift Giving icon Set a time for you to start and finish your shopping.
